======================================

There are a few changes for 2015...

>>> 6U GROUP WILL BE ADDED

BCGSL is adding a 6U level.  The feeling is that there tends to be a big difference in dexterity between a 5/6 year old and a 7/8 year old, and that those kids would be better served playing separately.

The 6U groups will play with the same rules that the 8U group played last year.  (They will get coach pitch for a few pitches, and if they swing and miss each time, then they get to hit off of a tee.  Everyone will bat each inning, and we won't keep score.)

The 8U group will now be 100% coach pitch.  Score will be kept and we will use umpires.  The feeling is that this will make the girls much better prepared to move up to 10U.

>>> 14U HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 15U

Any girls who thought they "graduated" from FGSA last year, actually have not!  (I'm talking to you, Mackenzie Hart!)  BCGSL has expanded 14U to include 15-year-olds.  The ultimate goal is to eventually have 16U teams in BCGSL, so this will be intermediate step to keep girls involved in the league, and then hopefully have a 16U division in 2016.

>>> TIGER PAW SOCKS

In the past the Tiger Paw Socks were optional.  90% of the girls are wearing them.  There has been some push within FGSA to have our girls look more like a team.  So every girl will be required to wear the red Tiger Paw socks during games.
