KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY INVITE - DATE CHANGE TO 4/25
Judy Lawes, Kutztown U head coach, has extended an invitation for any players in Berks County to attend a KU home game onFriday, April 25th.  After the game, the KU players will interact with all of the younger players doing skills and drills with them.  This is a double-header for them starting at 2pm.  Obviously you don't have to attend both games or even all of one game.  Both games should be over around 5-5:30-ish.  With daylight savings, that should be enough time for a little interaction.

This could be a fun opportunity for girls to see what real high-speed college softball looks like.

NOTE THE DATE CHANGE!  The 4/18 double-header has been post-poned to 4/25!

OCTOBER COACHES VS. KIDS FUND RAISER
Everyone who was involved with the FGSA last year is probably aware that our Coaches vs. Kids end of Fall season fund raiser was a huge success.  We raised $2500 which we donated to Breast Cancer Research.  The entire concept was initially suggested by our own 12U player, Tori Manmiller.  The event blossomed into what I don't think could be argued as the greatest thing the FGSA has ever accomplished.  Tori has since suggested that each year we raise money for a different cause.  Those with an idea for a new cause should bring their suggestion to a future FGSA Monthly Meeting.

FGSA NIGHT AT THE MOVIES
Last year we also launched our 1st Annual FGSA Night at the Movies where we played "A League of Their Own" right on our own field under the stars the weekend before school started.  Tentatively we are looking at Saturday, 8/23.  Mark your calendars!

FGSA BUS TRIP TO THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
We are kicking around the idea of a bus trip to see the Phillies on a Saturday night in September.  I'll have to judge interest before we invest a lot of time in it, but it does sound like a fun idea to me.

You can take these courses on-line for free through http://www.sportsafetyinternational.org/.  Simply select "ConcussionWise" and "CardiacWise" on the left hand side, and follow the steps to enroll in each course.  They don't take too long (20 minutes or so each, I think), and again, they are free.

PENDING CLEARANCE FORMS
As noted below, Clearance forms are required for all coaches, assistance coaches, and any parent who plans to step on the practice field at any time to help.  The following parents have indicated a willingness to help, and must submit their paperwork before the season starts...
